Digital Public Health Interventions Summer School Highlights

We are thrilled to share some wonderful moments from the recent Digital Public Health Interventions Summer School that took place in Bremen from July 10th to July 14th, 2023. This 5-day event, conducted in English, provided an enriching experience for all participants, exploring the design, evaluation, and implementation of digital public health interventions.

Unlocking the Potential of Digital Health

The summer school aimed to equip researchers, students, and professionals with the tools and knowledge to harness the power of digital public health interventions. Led by experts in the field, including Prof. Dr. Hajo Zeeb, Prof. Dr. Benjamin Schüz, Prof. Dr. Daniela Fuhr, Prof. Dr. Ansgar Gerhardus, Prof. Dr. Graham Moore and Dr. Jemma Hawkins the sessions were insightful and engaging.

Fostering Collaboration and Learning

Attendees from diverse backgrounds came together, creating a dynamic learning environment. The mix of lectures, seminars, and group activities encouraged collaboration and interactive discussions, enhancing the overall learning experience.

Practical Insights for Real-World Impact

One of the summer school's highlights was its emphasis on real-world challenges and practical solutions. Participants explored different intervention designs and evaluation methods, gaining valuable insights applicable to their work.

Recognizing Excellence

We celebrated the dedication and commitment of all participants by awarding certificates of achievement. These certificates represent their hard work and signify their expertise in digital public health interventions.

Exploring the Charm of Bremen

Beyond the classrooms, attendees embraced the charm of Bremen, a city blending history and modernity. Recommendations from the LSC DiPH-members added a special touch to their experience.

We extend a sincere thank you to all attendees, speakers, and collaborators for contributing to a memorable and impactful summer school.

Continuing the Journey

As we conclude this year's summer school, we look forward to building on the knowledge and connections made. Let's continue to drive progress in digital public health interventions, making a positive impact in our communities.

Until next time!

Digital public health interventions have great potential for enhancing population health, yet are complex, quickly evolving, and provide unique challenges. This 5-day summer school will provide a broad overview of the design, evaluation, and implementation of digital public health interventions.

The summer school will take place 10 to 14 July 2023 in Bremen. The course language is English.

It is hosted by the Leibniz ScienceCampus Digital Public Health (LSC DiPH) and will include a range of presenters, including Prof. Dr. Hajo Zeeb, Prof. Dr. Benjamin SchüzProf. Dr. Daniela Fuhr and Prof. Dr. Ansgar Gehardus.

Local Information

From 4 to 8 September 2023 the 37th Annual Conference of the European Health Psychology Society will take place in Bremen. Some of the LSC DiPH-members are also involved in its organisation - and they have collected some very good recommendations, where to hang out, eat or shop and also what to see. Definitely worth a look!

Directions

The summer school will take place at the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology – BIPS.

Directions from the central train station or from the Bremen airport

From the forecourt of the central train station (track E) or from the airport, take tram number 6 in the direction "Universität" to the stop "Berufsbildungswerk/Technologiepark" (takes about 10 respectively 30 minutes). From there, walk back about 260 m (in the direction from which you just came) and cross the bridge over the stream. Just after the bridge, cross the rails to your right and arrive at BIPS.

Arriving by car

On the highway A27, take exit number 19 (Horn-Lehe/Universität) towards “Universität”. After 1 km, turn left (3rd traffic light) onto the road “Universitätsallee”. At the next traffic light, follow the road “Universitätsallee” and turn right. After 270 meters, you will reach the road “Achterstraße” at the left curve. After 80 meters, turn right into the parking lot.
